I was there on a fitness holiday, hence the dreadful pun in the title. I promised myself a leaner fitter version of me and went to Le Sport, St Lucia to help me find her. Chips came with me. I could have spent my days surveying activity from a hammock, many others did.
But no, I had come here to zip through the rain forest,
(click to enlarge the image, you'll see them)
eat scones.....no that was not part of the deal, but they were the best I ever had.
The yoga and Pilates classes were great, I was shocked by how unfit and unbendy I have become. I attempted archery, golf and tennis. I was appalling at all of them.
I tried a class in circus skills. Chips and the camera came with me. It was forty years since I last sat on a trapeze.
When I was ten, I was pretty good with one.....funny how you lose those life skills.
The warm up was pretty fierce but the rings and trapeze were quite a calming experience....
..just not a flattering one.
This was the first time I had ever tried any thing with gym rings I was thankful that most residents were tucking into breakfast and missing this spectacle.
As classes finished each evening I would visit the beach to toast the sunset.
As the sun disappeared the fairy lights glowed and when all was dark fire eaters danced to steel drums.
The resort offers a daily treatment at their spa. I had the ache soothed from shocked muscles.
We left the resort to take bus and boat trips around the island. At the organic cocoa plantation I saw pods
... and ate the end product. Noooo that is a picture of the beans. Our Prince Charles and Camilla visited here recently as they too are organic farmers.
I bathed in the sulphur springs that originate from the volcano. We all smelled of hard boiled eggs on the bus ride home.
I felt very grateful that I had the health and the savings to experience this holiday. It was a privilege. I met some lovely people too. On my return to England I signed up for slimming club and fitness classes so that my fortnights efforts would not be wasted. I now need several months good sales so that I can return for yoga month in June. Pleeeeeeease.
Chips spent most of his vacation in a hammock with several good books. I need a holiday to recover this one.

They are sent to customers worldwide.
OK so the next step is to fit those rings in your garden, then an actual trapeze and you can charge people to come in and watch. Then you will have enough money to go back.
It all looks so gorgeous, wish I had been there though I think I would have done a Chips and nabbed a Hammock

Hey Liz. lovely to hear from you. Of course when you were at our stencil class it did not look like I was ever going to get on holiday.
The OK came at 4.30. I was flying at 6! Glad to hear that the stencilling is going well. Di and I are doing a craft fair this weekend, no hammocks involved.
