Well actually it will be a post about Mrs Jones but it starts with me.
Many years ago I dreamt of stencilling a silver leaf wall with our Chinoiserie stencil patterns and aluminium transfer leaf. I stencilled the sample board above. I made other silver samples from both smooth and textured surfaces then...nothing. I often talked about creating this room but so far have not. Stephanie Jones of Mrs Jones Painted Finishes on the other hand has done it, thrilled her client, her blog readers and me.
I am going to post a potted version of her silver adventure. There is more information on her blog and facebook album. Her blog is a feast of projects, photographs and general feel good stuff. It is well worth a visit.
Mrs Jones used our Chinoiserie Tree stencil to create this wall, the stencil is formed from many components. The stems fit together to meander over surfaces and leaves and flowers arrive as separate elements to fit wherever needed.
Mrs Jones' client did not want the wall to look too stencilled, she wanted some of the bridges painted out. Non stencillers, let me explain that the bridges are the ties that prevent a stencil from falling apart.
They have been over painted with a brownish-grey
Mrs Jones told me that without taking my class last year in Memphis she would have felt daunted by this task. I'm not surprised. I too would have trepidations. Maybe I need to take a class with me then I might get my silver room done! I started to stencil a purple wall months ago using this same stencil. it's looking good but I have no deadline to finish it so it's just sitting there half finished. Right, must get organised..and finish it
This is not the only post I have to share with you about Stephanie Jones. There will be another soon.

I have the same dilemma, Helen. I do so love that another artisan was able to do the finish and it looks so smashing to boot! Thank you for the post and links. :)
