I know that most months I am suggesting that you buy a copy of Living Etc and this month is no exception.
I had expected to see my brother in law's 'Spike Bench' by Peter Chippendale on the furniture pages. I did not find it in this edition but I did find some rather fab Louis style chairs stencilled with number stencils 1-4 from The Stencil Library. It is a simple and striking way of decorating furniture. This special stencil set is not on our site but contact us if you want to buy them and we will get them and any other numbers to you.
I may have another book coming out in the next couple of years, depending on how well the idea of it sells at the New York book fair. This is the kind of inexpensive, simple project that I would like to feature along side my more extravagant ideas.
The cover of Living, Etc shows a lovely hand pained Chinoiserie wallpaper by de Gournay. Fancy trying something similar? Well, either buy the wallpaper or stencil your own using panel stencils from The Stencil Library Chinoiserie Collection.
My copy of Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen's new book has just arrived, he used our Chinoiserie panel stencils in it so I will sign off, get a coffee and enjoy looking at this new publication. Will tell you more in a few days.
