Last week, I wrote about the stencilled sisal carpet at the Met Gala for the "China: Through the Looking Glass" exhibition (just been extended to Sept 7th). Before I leave the subject I just had to show you the amazing decoration (by Raul Avila) for the dining hall for the event.

Never mind the fantastic chinoiserie panel fabric wall hanging at the back, I just LOVE the hanging wisteria on the ceiling. It covers the large space. Japan has a famous 100+ year old wisteria that has been grown like a tree and the massive canopy is supported by scaffolding. It is in Ashikaga Flower Park. When in flower, the effect is just like the met gala ceiling. Stunning.

And not to be outdone, there is this amazing wisteria canopy in Kawachi Fuji Park
I have been so inspired, I have just put wisteria coloured highlights in my hair.
