Both my colleagues have been convalescing from injury during the past few weeks I have been alone in the office for some of that time processing orders, learning to cut stencils and corresponding with our customers, which made an interesting change of scenery for me. I have enjoyed packing the stencils for delivery and imagining the decorative projects that will be created from them.
There was a Japanese style geometric theme here. Followed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and an Art Deco scheme.
This project seemed as though it had a definite Scandi Folk Art theme; from the knitting pattern Nordic star to the trees and the rosemaling or barge painting style roses.
The Chain Lightning stencil was popular last month, I wondered whether it was featured in the media somewhere.
I know it appears in Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street, This picture is from the programme.
I think it is a lovely design. One of the customers that I corresponded with was using it in a baby's nursery and I would be very interested to see how it turned out. I am intrigued to know where the large VN166 Ray stencil from our Vintage Collection was going.
Both Rachel and Chips have now returned to work and as a result a less chaotic system will ensue but I would like to say another Hello to the customers that I had the pleasure of helping and hope that I did not mess up too much. The situation left me little time to blog or post any social media but now I am looking forward to returning to my own job, chatting with you all and taking pictures once again.
