Did the border become unpopular? If so, I don't know why. It is such a simple and quick way to add a bit of detail to a surface without covering the whole lot. It can define a space. It is incredibly versatile. On walls, you can use it around the top of the room, just below at picture rail height, mid wall as shown here, or for something quite different, around the bottom of the wall just above the skirting board. Borders come in all styles and sizes. They can be intricate or simple and you can of course, do them in multiple colours or a single colour. The stencil shown here is DE39 Border No. 39 from our Arts & Crafts range of stencils. The stencil used on the splashback of the washstand is a tile, DE228 Tile No. 25 from our Art Nouveau range of stencils.
