With good wishes for the royal wedding between Catherine Middleton and Prince William in mind. This may be the time to make bunting and any other patriotic ephemera involving union flags and crowns. Actually I need little excuse to decorate anything with either subject. I had hoped to get lots of new stuff stencilled to inspire you but time has got away so I'll show you how to add a gilded coach line to a tray, tabletop or even a gilded coach.
The stencil was an enlarged version of the British flag.
To make a coach line place three layers of tape next to each other to the desired length of the stripe. Make the middle length from thin tape. Grout tape is good for this. Once they are all lined snugly together remove the centre tape.
Stencil the gap left between the two outer lengths of tape. I have stenciled it with a product called Instant Size. It is a type of glue. The glue should dry very quickly...hence the name Instant Size. Place transfer leaf onto the tacky size and press on the paper backing. Press and rub until the paper comes away.
Clean up all the raggy edges by chiselling at them with a soft, springy stencil brush.
We have a fab, new crown stencil, I'll get that photographed tomorrow.
Greetings from Seattle, USA. Fantastic work. You know your concepts extremely well.
Please check out what I do... I think you might be intrigued...
