We are running a stencil class at The Stencil Library on Sat Nov 2nd 2013. The doors are open at 9.30am and the class starts at 10. Lunch is provided and we finish around 5pm. I will take you on a tour of stencilled rooms in my home which will offer an overview of the versatility of the stencil as a tool for decoration.
The aim of the stencil day is to give inspiration and information whilst exploring differing methods of using stencils. You will learn basic techniques for successful stencilling with various media from oil crayon to paint, dyes, gilding leaf and powder. We will show you how to cut stencils safely and how to measure pattern repeats, stencil fabric, tackle corners and other puzzles that are solved easily but might be deterring you from starting your decorating project.
The cost of the class is £70.00 and includes the use of materials during the course plus stencils and brushes to take home.
Do you fancy joining us? We take only six students per session so contact us soon if you would like a place. Stocksfield Hall can be reached on foot via rail or bus. Newcastle airport is 20 miles away.
Stocksfield is located in the Tyne Valley area of Northumberland. It is a beautiful county, if you can spare the time I recommend staying a few days.
