Today's Stencil Inspiration: Revamping a Table

There is nothing more satisfying than taking or finding an old piece of furniture and giving it a new lease of life.  A tables go, round tables are great.  They are good for social reasons and perfect for stencilled decoration.  All you need is a quadrant stencil.  This is a quarter of a circle which you can leave as a cornerpiece or make half circles for walls, but repeated 4 times make a large full circle.  We do several quadrant stencils (just search quadrant on our site).  This is FR22 Honeysuckle Quadrant from our new French Inspired stencil range.  Honeysuckle symbolises happiness, familial harmony and bonds of love so it seems appropriate to put on a round table.  Make sure you clean, sand and prime old pieces of furniture first so you can base coat with matt emulsion (latex) which is the best surface for stencilling.  Stencil as usual and then varnish to protect your surface.  Several coats of acrylic varnish is appropriate for a piece that it going to get a lot of use and handling.
