When I say complex, I mean more laborious than difficult. But sometimes the effort is worth is. People look at this picture and ask where the stencil is because the pattern, which is indeed created with a stencil, does not look like most stencils. This is another design inspired by the Royal Pavilion at Brighton and is a wonderful example of chinoiserie. It is CV28 Royal Pavilion Fretwork and it is from our New Classic Victorian range of stencils. It comes in two sizes and the larger is designed so that you can create this design up to chair rail height or thereabouts. It is a 5 layer stencil. This is where the laborious comes into it, but it is designed this way to make it simple to use. This comes with full instructions, each layer is numbered and has registration marks to match them up, and you use a single colour on each layer. Two colours for the wavy background and three for the 3D fretwork effect. As it is a single colour per layer, you could apply the paint with a paint roller to speed up the process a bit. But at the end, you will have something that only otherwise, exists in a palace.
